Today, I’m getting more personal and will share my feelings…
My relationship with fashion goes beyond social media, it’s a passion I carry with me since I was little. My style has changed a lot throughout the years, but I stay true to myself and respect my feelings/mood, yet I’m open to learn and experience the new. I strongly believe that YOU give life to the clothes you wear, not the other way around. I disagree with most of the fashion rules and I try to encourage people to wear whatever makes them feel good.
It’s crazy how we are always seeking perfection and how we try to meet expectations that others create about us. What others think is their own perception and it doesn’t mean that it’s the truth. We should place our values in what is true to ourselves. We all have flaws, insecurities, and issues and that’s ok—we are humans. It is also important to love yourself and be confident to embrace our individualities.
Being a blogger and, somehow, a public person, makes me feel the unreal pressure of ‘looking perfect’ even more. I can’t lie and say that I’m 100% happy with they way I look. I have a fear of getting old since I have a young soul and the aging process is somehow confusing, specially when my mind and body tell me something different than my age. However, growing older has helped me to put things in perspective and focus on what really matters, such as living a healthy and meaningful life.
When I started Takeoverstyle, I had a purpose of inspiring women to explore fashion, travel, and lifestyle while sharing my personal experiences and perceptions. I must confess that I have sometimes lost myself in the way, trying to ‘fit in’ and comparing myself to others. I feel the need to reset and focus on my journey of staying true to myself.
